Kansas
City 2004 Parade Photos
While exercising on a stationary bike at his firehouse in the Bronx, Lt. Joe Huber came up with the idea for members of the Anthony Sept. 11 Committee and of the Anthony Fire Dept. to go to Kansas City. It would be a great way to spread the word about the memorial and to be a part of the annual Kansas City St. Patrick's Day Parade. He placed a few calls to KC friends he had made in 2002 when he and other NYC firemen were the guests of the parade committee. With the arrangements made, the memorial committee headed to KC and joined the Anthony Firefighters with their new rescue truck. Our mayor, John Schott, made plans for Joe Huber to fly to Kansas City for the day to help with the promotion. We are very grateful to Joe for making the trip on such short notice and to his family and fellow workers for making it possible for him to come to Kansas.
